London Myriad Ensemble

The London Myriad Ensemble has given concerts internationally, with a repertoire by composers ranging from Mozart to Chick Corea. Its performers share a passion for chamber music alongside a wealth of experience within the music profession. As First Prize Winner of the 2nd Israeli Music Competition 2009, the London Myriad Ensemble has subsequently appeared on Radio 3 and at the Purcell Room, Southbank Centre, London.

Performances have included venues such as St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James's Piccadilly, the residence of the British High Commissioner to the Seychelles, Dartington International Summer School and by invitation at Beauville Arts Wind Chamber Week in South-West France. The London Myriad Ensemble has also been supported by grants from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the Tillett Trust in the past. Benslow Music Trust hosted the first highly successful Wind Ensembles with the Myriads course in 2010 with another course to follow in 2011.

The London Myriad Ensemble has an active interest in new music for wind quintet, aiming to raise the profile of the genre and to encourage the performance and commission of new works for this combination. They have, as an ensemble, worked closely with composers for Brighton’s Fringe Festival, having also given several world premiere and UK premiere performances. The ensemble hopes to secure funding in order to record previously unrecorded works for wind quintet.

The London Myriad Ensemble also enjoys a variety of outreach work, having been International Artists with the Concordia Foundation as part of their ‘Young Audiences’ series. Work has now begun on a commission for workshops with children in Lambeth and Elephant and Castle in south London.
