Composer and baritone Gregers Brinch has been a prolific composer for the past 25 years.

His most recent CD release is the String Quartet No.1 on the CD 'Harmonious Dissonance' on the Navona Label.

As a baritone Brinch has also recorded a double CD with the Pianist William Hancox of songs by the German Composer Dorotee Fischer, who lived as a musically creative housewife - composing a wealth of fine songs during the period of both world wars.

His next release is his String Quartet no.2 on the Claudio recording label featuring the Bergersen Quartet with violinist Jonathan Trusscott. Also featured on this CD are the Two Cello Sonatas performed by the world acclaimed cellist Rohan De Saram to whom a great number of contemporary composers have dedicated works. He is accompanied by pianist William Hancox.
Brinch draws his musical inspiration from many sources and notably from a passion for drama. His early musical upbringing was through listening.  Upon completing an intensive period of immersion in the basics of music theory and piano playing with Cecil Cope - all the while composing his first short pieces - he entered the Musikseminar in Hamburg to study composition with Elmar Lampson. After graduating in 1992 he went on to teach in adult education, first in Hamburg and later at Emerson College, England.
During his time at Emerson, his compositional striving intensified, helping him achieve a greater sense of freedom and the capacity to embrace the demands of his compositional aspirations. An in depth study of the intervals in particular has led him to view music completely afresh.

Other works include a short oratorio, The Story of Elijah for tenor, choir and orchestra; a commission from Emerson College; Requiem Brevis for choir a cappella; a Viola Concerto; two piano sonatas, two violin sonatas and two cello sonatas.

Lindsay Clarke, who won the Whitbread Prize with his novel The Chymical Wedding, has just published his latest novel:
The Water Theatre published by Alma books.

"Lindsay Clarke weaves a stunning, compelling tale that tackles the biggest theme of all: the existence of evil, and how ordinary, fallible mortals come to terms with Man's astonishing capacity for brutality and venality... The Water Theatre will linger long beyond the turning of the last page. It is difficult to remember a recent book that is at once so beautiful and yet so thought provoking." - The Times

"Clarke has a gift for believably melding the visible world and human life with larger spiritual and metaphysical forces." - The Financial Times
