We were aboard the Oriana for this cruise and attended all 6 recitals. We thoroughly enjoyed the superb performances and musical selections. Thank you for the many wonderful evenings we spent in your company on the high seas. Hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again in the future.

Julie and David

Thanks so much for your recitals on ORIANA....they were so much appreciated, especially all the Gabriel Faure compositions. I also enjoyed my impromptu jamming with you, Julie, on Annie's Song. Such a shame that there appears to be a conspiracy to discount/ avoid/overlook John Denver's music when he was so popular.

However, tons of accolades to you both are reserved for The Ashoken Farewell....a truly wonderful melody, and it was only when digging it out on Youtube yesterday that I appreciated I'd heard it before when Ally Bain and some other fiddlers did it with a guitar accompaniment, but while it stuck a deep chord within me, I never knew the title until now. Have now downloaded the tablature, and have versions in G and D (ambrosia for a guitarist) that I'll try and get to grips with and dazzle the local Folk Clubs here in Norwich and Blakeney.

Best wishes for the future to you both, and I'll keep an eye on the website for any appearances up here in the land of the whistling sugar beet !

Dear Clive,

It was great to meet you - and to have an impromptu jam as well! What a bonus!

I'm glad you've been able to find the original version of the Ashokan Farewell - it is one of those melodies. I have a friend who hums it every time I see him! It's that catchy! Definitely take it to some folk clubs, it'll go down a treat! I'll have to try and nip along if I am in Blakeney or Norwich (such a beautiful place, Norfolk - you never know, I might end up playing there again!).

Great to have you at the concerts. Thanks again!

Julie (and David)
